A bit of childhood

Guess what a friend gave me yesterday? A bag of Suan's Mint Wafer! This is one of my favorite candies when I was in grade school. These mint candies come in different color and slowly melts once you pop one in your mouth.

I used to buy a couple of packs from the school canteen or from the sari-sari stores. What I love about this candy is it is not too sweet and not too minty. Just the right taste.

I shared some with my officemates and they, too, were delighted. Although some are not familiar with it (obviously, they belong to the younger generation), they enjoyed the candy as well.

I thought the manufacturer of this candy ceased its operation already as I haven't seen this in any store or supermarket nowadays. Luckily my friend stumbled upon a store selling the candies while shopping in Greenhills. So, what are you waiting for? Go grab one for yourself and relive your childhood days.

I last saw these about 10 years ago, being sold at the takeout counter of Cabalen restaurant in Sta.Lucia East Mall (Cainta). Didn't know that would be the last time I would see them. Been looking for these ever since.
